We created this site in August 2003. It is devoted to the city of Moscow and its old houses, both to those that are still standing and to those that have vanished. They embody a living history of people: the famous and the obscure, the clever and the dull, the talented and the mundane. Their value lies in the fact that they have become an important component of what is called the spirit of Moscow.

This project concerns our childhood. It is a virtual book of reminiscences of all those who were born and grew up in the USSR. This project made its first appearance on the web on 20 October 2005. We worked on it with a particular zest and enjoyment, because most of us were born in the time period between year 1976 and year 1982. For this reason, everyone was eager to contribute ideas and implement them as a part of this project.
